Built Around a Simple Idea
Atria Works began with a particular frustration: that most interior design felt borrowed from somewhere else. Scandinavian minimalism in a Klang Valley apartment. Industrial New York loft aesthetics in a Petaling Jaya home. The spaces looked collected rather than considered.
We started with a different question — what if the design came from here? From the way morning light falls through louvred panels. From the spatial generosity of a traditional Malaysian courtyard. From the textures of local timber and the weight of terracotta underfoot.
That's the work we do now. Not imposing a style, but drawing one out — from the architecture of the building, from the habits of the people who live there, from the particular way a space holds the day's light as it moves.

Founding Designer
Trained in architecture, drawn to interiors. Zahra leads spatial planning and design direction, with a particular interest in how light and material behave in tropical conditions.

We resolve how a space functions and flows before committing to any surface treatment or visual language. Structure informs style here, not the other way around.
Complete Documentation
Every specification is written clearly enough that any competent contractor can follow it. We don't leave ambiguity in documents that will be interpreted on a building site.
Client Data Privacy
All client information, site photographs, and project details are kept confidential. We do not share or publish client work without written permission.
Honest Timelines
We give realistic timeframes from the start. When unexpected complications arise on site — and they do — we communicate early rather than quietly working to resolve them unnoticed.
Responsible Material Choices
We favour materials with durability and low maintenance burden. When sustainable alternatives exist and perform comparably, we recommend them — not as a checkbox, but because they tend to wear better over time.

Our Context
Interior Design in Klang Valley
Interior design in Malaysia has its own particular demands — the year-round humidity, the intensity of equatorial light, the way homes sit in relationship to communal and outdoor space. These aren't inconveniences to work around. They're the conditions that good design here should respond to.
Atria Works has spent a decade working within Petaling Jaya and the wider Klang Valley, building relationships with local suppliers and contractors while developing a spatial approach that draws from the region's architectural heritage. Courtyard-inspired spatial arrangements, natural ventilation strategies, locally sourced timber and stone — these elements show up in our work because they perform well here, not because they're fashionable.
Our clients range from families renovating long-held homes to developers fitting out boutique hospitality spaces. What they share is a preference for design that lasts quietly rather than aging loudly. We work carefully for that kind of client.
